11-30-10: Juniperus scopulorum 'Skyrocket'

Sheer and wispy, silvery-blue, slender and upright are the features of Skyrocket juniper.

Use this sentinel evergreen in your garden as a vertical dimension in an otherwise horizontal garden. Growing 15 feet high by 2 to 3 feet wide this juniper with transparent thread like foliage allows you to see the trunk through the blue gray veil of needles. Plant in well drained soil, full sun and surround with heathers, lavenders, thymes and cistus. Plant in groups, as a gentle hedge or alone.
