Picea pungens glauca 'Backeri' Blue spruce makes a lovely Christmas tree and a choice specimen for the landscape.

‘Backeri’ spruce is a smaller version of the familiar Colorado blue spruce. It is suited for compact urban gardens or tighter spaces, growing 12 feet high by 6 feet wide. The beauty of this tree is the intense bright blue foliage which is highly prized in the winter when we all need something special in the garden. Grow this spruce in full sun. It is drought tolerant once established. ‘Backeri’ spruce has a very upright and pyramidal shape.
