4-5-11: Hemerocallis 'Siloam Fairy Tale'

It is spring and in spite of the soggy weather we are getting excited about planting our ornamental and edible gardens or possibly a combination of these.

As you venture out into the nurseries hopefully you’ll have your list in hand that includes the flowers you want to bloom later in the season. One gorgeous flower that we’d suggest you add is Daylily Silaom Fairytale. A free-flowering daylily that blooms mid-summer through fall, notice the creamy yellow cup shaped flower with a green throat surrounded by a rich plum center on this compact daylily. The abundant blooms are fragrant. Daylilies are suited to damp and wet soils, heavy clay (as well as other soils) and can be used as a ground cover. Plant in full sun to partial shade and expect this daylily to grow 18” tall and wide. Constant and lovely, daylilies are the workhorses of the perennial garden, always there to pull their weight in glorious color and beauty.
