4-6-10: Buxus 'Graham Blandy'

Buxus 'Graham Blandy' Our featured boxwood, ‘Graham Blandy’ is a narrow form of the common boxwood growing (3-6 inches a year) to nine feet tall and never wider than 3 feet.

If left unsheared it has a whimsical look, sheared it takes on a sentinel form. Plant in full sun as a mass planting or singly as a vertical element both in formal and in more casual gardens. They add a nice touch to the winter garden bearing deep green leaves and holding up after many perennials have receded into the ground. ‘Graham Blandy’ is regal planted in pots flanking the front door.

Boxwoods like full sun to part shade, they are drought tolerant once established but appreciate summer water. Deer resistance is another desirable quality. If you want to prune your boxwoods do so in June (mid to late) after the soft new growth has hardened off a bit and then again in late summer around Labor Day for sharper shaped look.

In the nursery we have Graham Blandys in number five pots measuring three to four feet tall and in number fifteen pots measuring five feet plus tall.
