7-4-08: Hemerocallis Daylily

Hemerocallis Daylily Constant and lovely, daylilies are the workhorses of the perennial garden, always there to pull their weight in glorious color and beauty. We offer several varieties of hemerocallis: the ever popular and long blooming rich golden yellow ‘Stella D’oro’ (1 foot x 1 foot), ‘Garnet’ is a taller daylily blooming deep red with yellow centers.

‘Siloam June Bug’ has bright golden flowers marked with a maroon eye and green throat and ‘Siloam Fairy Tale’ has ruffled buff petals with deep purple-maroon eye zones and green throats. Daylilies enjoy full sun and rich soil with an adequate amount of water. They are long lived and easily divideable in the fall. Daylilies may be combined with almost any other plant with the same requirements including pieris and other evergreens to lavenders and sages, as well as all other sun loving perennials. Care note: in late summer cut foliage back to the ground, lightly fertilize and water, you will enjoy fresh new growth and a possible rebloom.
