7-6-10: Hemerocallis 'Siloam Tiny Tim' |
|
Constant and lovely, daylilies are the workhorses of the perennial garden, always there to pull their weight in glorious color and beauty. Daylilies enjoy full sun and rich soil with an adequate amount of water. They are long lived and easily dividable in the fall. Daylilies may be combined with almost any other plant with the same requirements, including pieris and other evergreens as well as lavenders and sages and all other sun loving perennials. Let’s give credit to Pauline Henry of Siloam Springs, Arkansas who created hundreds of wondrous daylilies including our featured plant, Siloam Tiny Tim, which blooms rosy-lavender with a deep purple eye and green throat. Care note: in late summer cut foliage back to ground, lightly fertilize and water, you will enjoy fresh new growth and a possible rebloom.
